Personal Assistance Personal Assistance includes the provision of direct assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, eating, meal preparation excluding cost of food), household chores essential to the health and safety of the service recipients. It may also include assistance with budget management, attending appointments, interpersonal and social skills building in order to live in a home and community. Medication administration may be provided as permitted under Tennessee’s Nurse Practice Act.
