Individual and Group Employment Services - (All Counties) |
|

DCI offers a myriad of supported employment options to individuals interested in working in paid jobs in the community. Supported employment services, which consist of paid employment is conducted in a variety of settings, particularly work sites in which persons without disabilities are employed. Supported Employment includes activities needed to sustain paid work by individuals receiving waiver services, including coordination, supervision, and training. Follow Along Services are also provided for those individuals who have been successfully placed in supported employment. It includes provision of on-going support and continuous or periodic job skill training services provided throughout the term of employment to enable an individual to maintain employment. It may also involve other support services provided at or away from the work site, such as transportation, personal care services, and counseling to employee in terms of job retention. |

Community Based Services - (All Counties) |

DCI offers a variety of community participation options to people based upon their interests and needs. Individuals engage in activities of their choice in groups of three or less and learn about community supports. This service offers individuals opportunities and experiences outside of traditional programs. Individuals receiving this service develop hobbies, friendships, new interests, and become members of their communities. |

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
|
People accessing services through Douglas Cooperative Inc. enjoy every aspect of life. Working and living as independently as possible is certainly a vital part of what service recipients and their families strive for, but life may be enjoyed through recreation and leisure activities which build interpersonal skills and self esteem. Special Olympic games, picnics, vacations, dances and a sundry of sport events are some of the things people enjoy based upon their interests. |

Facility Based Day Services - (All Counties)
|
This service provides a variety of activities which emphasize relationships and training in basic self-help skills, Prevocational training is an important element of this program. Providing individual training and supporting the acquisition, retention, or improvement in daily living, social, communication, self-help, and other adaptive skills is a priority. Training builds personal care skills, enhances development of social and interpersonal skills, and encourages individual interaction with community resources. Intended outcomes include increased competency in activities of daily living, a positive self image, and enhanced social interactions.

ENCLAVE WORK CREWS - (All Counties) Small groups of people work together at various community sites and are paid an based upon their level of productivity. Many of these individuals are later employed by the business or company that contracts with DCI for the services these work crews perform. Some people may choose to work through an enclave model.
